Mountain Laurel offers a variety of “Summer Discovery Camps” for students ages 16 months through 8th grade. Our summer camps are open to the public and begin two weeks after the end of the school year and run until three weeks before the beginning of the next school year. Please see below for hours of operation for each program. We also offer an extended day option for families who need the extra care at the end of the day, until 6:00pm.

Toddler and Primary Summer Camp
Ages 16 months-6 years

Children of 16 months and older embrace the world in a Montessori classroom, using all of their senses in joyful learning. Language, math, geography and science all come to life through activities and materials designed to entice and delight. Arts and crafts will have a special focus in this summer program. Children will explore a wide variety of visual and textile arts and create fun, theme-based crafts to take home. Daily group time, snack and outdoor play allow plenty of time for enjoying friends old and new.

Elementary Summer Camp
Ages 6-12 years

The Elementary Summer Camp starts the day meeting at our Front Royal campus at 8:30 a.m. Children spend their day engaged in a variety of activities, studying a new theme each week. They visit the local library for research, conduct investigations outdoors, play sports, do arts and crafts, and even visit local farms to pick fresh fruits and vegetables. We finish the day with an activity or a swim at the 4-H center, Shenandoah River, or Lake Arrowhead and then return to the Front Royal campus by 3:30 p.m. for dismissal.

Middle School
6th grade-8th grade

Tweenagers and teenagers can enjoy hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, and waterparks with our new three-day camp (Tuesday-Thursday). You have the option to add on Field Trip Fridays for more fun with your friends.

Field Trip Fridays
Ages 6-15 years

This series is available for all elementary-age students. Parents can sign up for any of the field trips. If your student will be home this summer, but would like to have the opportunity to engage with peers, this is the perfect option!  Field Trips are subject to availability and change. Parents will be notified as early as possible if any changes are necessary.
