2024 Summer Camp Information
Welcome to MLMS Summer Camp! We are ready to have a summer of fun with your little one. Each day your child will have the chance to participate in fun games, cultural activities, and art projects. We will spend lots of time enjoying the outdoors. Toddler and Primary children will have water play on campus. Elementary children will swim a few times each week at the Town Pool, the WARF, or Lake Arrowhead as well as venture off on some field trips in Virginia and D.C. The Middle School students will be off campus every day with hikes, horseback riding, canoeing, community service at C-CAP, and waterpark trips.
The hours for Summer Camp are 8:30 - 3:30 every day. If your child is signed up for aftercare, they may stay as late as 6:00. Toddler and Primary families should park their car, and walk their child to the classrooms. It is essential that you hold your child's hand in the parking lot.
Elementary and Middle School children should enter via the front porch, where a teacher or staff member will check them in for the day. Children will not enter the classrooms before 8:30 a.m.

Dismissal is from 3:00 - 3:30 every afternoon. Toddlers will be dismissed from the courtyard. Primary, Elementary, and Middle School students will be dismissed from the front porch from 3:00 - 3:30 each day. If we are off campus, we will do our best to be back by 3:30. If we run into major traffic delays, we will let the office know so that they can let you know! Parents and caregivers, be prepared with your I.D. when you pick up your child.
If you need to pick up your child in the middle of the day for an appointment, please call the front office before you arrive. 540-636-4257 This is especially important for Elementary and Middle School students as our plans often change with the weather. For example, if we are scheduled to be at the Town Pool and thunderstorms pop up, we might go bowling or roller skating instead.
Here is the list of everything that your camper should bring:
- *labeled lunch (nothing that needs to be heated or refrigerated)
- *labeled snack
- *labeled water bottle
Toddler children do NOT need a lunch and snack. They do need a water bottle that is labeled. We will send out a grocery rotation for both classes soon.
- comfortable sports clothes
- sneakers
- a set of extra clothes to keep at school
- bathing suit
- towel
- water shoes (Primary and Toddler children only)
Toddler children will leave their bathing suit, towel and water shoes at school. We will take care of their laundry!
- diapers/pull-ups and wipes (if needed)
- paperwork for the office or online
- payments for the office at the beginning of each week
*Labeled means that your child's name and the date must be marked on these items EVERY DAY!
Please DO NOT send: sunscreen, bug spray or hand sanitizer - We have a set of each of these items to be used for the children. Children should have sunscreen and bug spray applied each morning before they arrive at school. We will reapply throughout the day.
Communication - If there is additional information specific to your child's program/level, you will receive another email with instructions. Be sure to look for updates and weekly posts with pictures to keep up with all of our fun! Email is our main mode of communication for the summer. For Elementary and Middle School, you will see a schedule posted each week on the front porch.
Registration, Payments and Paperwork - If you have not already paid in full, payments for each week are due on the Monday of that week. Children will not be permitted to attend if their paperwork is incomplete.
