Odalys was born and raised in Miami, Florida.  Her family immigrated to the United States from Cuba, the Canary Islands, and Spain.    She worked as an administrative assistant for the Miami-Dade County Public School Board for seven years.  She graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, grades 1-6.  After graduation, Odalys, her husband Jerry, their beloved dog, Matty, and Sunny, their Sun Conure moved to Reston, Virginia.

Living in Northern Virginia, she worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for six years.  She and her family moved to Front Royal in 2006.  During her time in Front Royal, she was a stay-at-home mom for nine years.  Her son, Jacob started Mountain Laurel in the primary program and her daughter Sydney, started in the toddler program.  As a Mountain Laurel parent, she ran the Parent-Teacher Organization, and their yearly auction fundraisers. Odalys became an employee at Mountain Laurel in 2016.

Odalys enjoys painting with her daughter, jewelry making, baking, and tending to the garden.  Her special interests include old architectural buildings, ancient history, and visiting museums in Washington, D.C. and in New York.
