Primary: Sensorial Lessons

Maria Montessori called the Sensorial materials “materialized abstractions.” Work with them helps children organize their intelligence and mathematical mind. This leads to a more thorough understanding of abstract concepts learned in later years.

Scientifically designed materials such as the Solid Cylinders, Pink Tower, Geometric Cabinet, Binomial and Trinomial Cubes, Sound Cylinders and Color Tablets isolate the many sensory qualities a child experiences in life, and helps him or her understand the world around them.

Work with the Sensorial materials help a child refine their senses, classify sensory impressions and prepare them for more advanced work in the Language and Math areas of the classroom.
