Summer Discovery Camps
Mountain Laurel offers a variety of “Summer Discovery Camps” for students ages 2 ½ to 12. Our summer camps begin two weeks after the end of the school year and run until two weeks before the beginning of the next school year. Please see below for hours of operation for each program. We also offer an extended day option for families who need the extra care time that begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30.
Primary Summer Camp
Ages 2 1/2 years -6 years
Children of 2 1/2-6 years embrace the world in a Montessori classroom, using all of their senses in joyful learning. Language, math, geography and science all come to life through activities and materials designed to entice and delight. Arts and crafts will have a special focus in this summer program. Children will explore a wide variety of visual and textile arts and create fun, theme-based crafts to take home. Daily group time, snack and outdoor play allow plenty of time for enjoying friends old and new.
Elementary Summer Camp
Ages 6-12 years
The Elementary Summer Camp starts the day meeting at our Front Royal campus at 8:30 a.m. From there we transport students to our Flint Hill campus that is situated on 23 beautiful acres of pastures, pond and woods. With a majestic view of Mount Marshall as backdrop, children spend their day engaged in a variety of activities. We finish the day with an activity or a swim at the 4-H center and then return to the Front Royal campus by 3:30 p.m. for dismissal.
Field Trip Fridays
Ages 6-12 years
This series is available for all elementary age students. Parents can sign up for one field trip, or any number in between. If your student will be home this summer, but would like to have the opportunity to engage with peers, this is the perfect option! Field Trips are subject to availability and change. Parents will be notified as early as possible if any changes are necessary.
